Don’t mix insurance with investment plans’

I have seen people getting confused with the term insurance and investment. These people expect something in return on the maturity from the insurance company. This so because these people hardly understand the importance of insurance and investment. In many cases insurance agent also make the person fool by using the situation in his favour by selling insurance to a person interested in investment.

What is insurance?
Insurance is defined as the equitable transfer of the risk of a loss, from one entity to another, in exchange for payment. An insurer is a company selling the insurance; an insured or policyholder is the person or entity buying the insurance policy.

Concept of Insurance / How Insurance Works?
Concept behind insurance is that a group of people exposed to similar risk come together and make contributions towards formation of a pool of funds. In case a person actually suffers a loss on account of such risk, he is compensated out of the same pool of funds. Contribution to the pool is made by a group of people sharing common risks and collected by the insurance companies in the form of premiums.

What is investment?
Investment is the commitment of money or capital to purchase financial instruments or other assets in order to gain profitable returns in the form of interest, income, or appreciation of the value of the instrument. Investment is related to saving or deferring consumption.

Now the question is which insurance is better and why?
As per my view Term Insurance is better. Term Life insurance or life assurance is a contract between the policy owner and the insurer, where the insurer agrees to pay a designated beneficiary a sum of money upon the occurrence of the insured individual's or individuals' death or other event, such as terminal illness or critical illness. In return, the policy owner agrees to pay a stipulated amount at regular intervals or in lump sums. If he outlive the term of the policy, he will get nothing.

Now understand the whole scenario with the help of an example.

Rajesh age is 28yrs at present. He has planned for LIC money back policy. If he gets insurance of 10,00,000 for 20yrs, then he has to pay hefty premium of 62,260 for 20yrs. Which mean his total investment would come around 62,260*20 = 12, 45,200 nearly. He will get 2, 00,000 back every 5yrs and remaining amount with bonus will be paid at the end of the period.

If he plan to get term insurance of 10,00,000 for 20yrs , then he has to pay only nearly 2890 every yr over period of 20yrs which mean in total he will pay 2890*20=57,800. No doubt he will lose this amount if he outlives the policy. But if he dies his dependent will get coverage of 10, 00,000.

So the difference of amount invested in two option is 1245200-57800=1187400. With the term insurance he has the option to invest the remaining amount i.e. 1187400 into some good mutual funds over a period 20yrs.Even if he get the average return 20% his amount will much more (nearly 1 crore).

So, it is clear that one should opt for term insurance and make the investment where there is high return. In this way if anything happens to the person then dependent will have the 10, 00,000 and also the amount which he invested along with the return.

This will assure him of comfortable life for himself and his family whether he lives or anything happens to him.

Why to send kids to play school.

Sending kids to playschool is the basic step to prepare them for the outside world development.

In metro cities most of the family is nuclear one and parents prefer to send their kids to play school where they can mingle with other children and learn how to cooperate and many other things.

Kids enjoy playing with children of same age group and their metal ability improves.

Kids learn many things through rhymes, songs and short stories and this improves their understanding.

Some kids are so attached to their parents that they do not want to leave their parents. Play school provide such an environment to the child to make them comfortable and these children easily get adjusted in school environment, when they start going to school.

Making friends, taking turns, sharing and talking give them head start in their social life. They also learns manners, teamwork and to be courteous.

There is no criterion that judges when to send a child to play school. It depends upon child only, as every child is different. Whenever parents feel that their child is comfortable going to play school they can start sending them.

Stories and Kids- Part I

From past few days I am little tense. My concern is my child. I noticed that from few days he got more irritating, shows tantrum and stick to the things he desire. I have to work hard to make him eat on time. All his activities start irritating me to much so I resort compelling him to do the things. But this way nothing workout and my headache remain as it is.

As we all know that every problem has some solution. What I found on observing him for few days that he start irritating when he feel hungry or sleepy. So I planned to prepare his diet plan. And start giving him meals accordingly. Yes this time this idea worked. Actually problem is that 3-4 yr child sometimes find difficult to express the things that’s why they behave like this. To make him understand right or wrong I started telling him short stories. It proved to be wonderful idea.

We all know small kids love stories. It’s the best way to explain out the thing which we want them to know by creating stories and telling them the same. This way they understand what is right and what is wrong. While telling stories you can notice the excitement and curiosity in their small eyes. This way child starts loving you more and even you will have great feeling when your child cuddle in your arm while listening stories.

I am sharing some stories with you.

Clever Sheep

One day a careless sheep was trying to cross jungle. On the way one wolf cornered him.
Though sheep was careless but was very clever.
Wolf said: - you little sheep can’t escape this time.
Sheep replied softly you are very much right.
Grant me my last wish before you eat me. Please sing a song for me.
Wolf said:-ok,
And he started began to howl. On hearing the howl Dogs came running and drove the wolf away.

MORAL: - Always use your mind whenever you get into any problem and never give up.

Two Friends-Tinku and Minku

Tinku was lazy and naughty child. He never listened to his mom.
Minku always listened to her mom and respected the elders. He always maintains balance between study and play.
Tinku feel very jealous from Minku because everybody loves Minku. All children love to be friends with Minku.
One day Tinku asked his Grandpa that nobody likes me. Why?
His grandpa told him politely that Minku is good boy and he always listens to his mother and he is also good in his study.
From that day Tinku also started listening to his parents and his performance gradually improved in his study.

MORAL:-Balance is necessary between study and play. Child who listens to their parent and respect elder are liked by everyone

The Dog and the Shadow

A dog was crossing a bridge over a river with a piece bone in his mouth, saw his own shadow in the water .He thought that it is another Dog, with a larger piece of bone in its mouth. He immediately attacked the other Dog so that he can enjoy the larger piece. What happened? In attempt of getting the both pieces he lost his own bone piece also. He thus lost both.

MORAL: Greediness is always a losing game.

Sign of development in Bihar

Recently in newspaper (Times of India), I have gone through an article on the growth rate of Bihar. I hardly read news paper on daily basis but when my husband told about this then I was not able to stop myself to read that. Though I am brought up in Delhi but being Bihari I was so excited after reading the article. Every Bihari must have appreciated this development of their native place. But one thing came into my mind - Will this growth continue? . Government has worked hard and definitely it will help to improve the image of Bihar.

I see many people feel ashamed of disclosing that they are bihari as they don’t want to be insulted and commented. People belittle Bihar as they feel most of the biharies in Delhi are poor and doing job like rickshaw pulling or selling vegetables but do they consider those biharies who are at good position in top of companies and who are really doing well in their profession. People from Bihar have switched to different state in search of job and livelihood and this so because of poor development of the state, lack of job and opportunities.

We accept that there is problem, but who are responsible for this poor condition? Is these leaders only? I don’t think so. We educated Bihari are also responsible for this. We the younger generation can create a new social image of the Bihar and help the government in creating turnaround success story of Bihar. For this first of all we have to change ourselves. We should start maintaining law and order, respect and help each other, and practice fair play. I understand this cannot be done in a yr but we can uplift our native place slowly but steadily.

I strongly appeal to the small and as well as big entrepreneur to start their operation in Bihar. This will help youth there to get job and let other also think in same manner. Slowly infrastructure will also improve.

I have strong hope that Bihar will change for good and soon all Bihari would go back to Bihar and will feel proud to called Bihari.

Love Is

Meaning of love cleared to me when I experienced the love.

Here I wrote some lines on it.

Love Is

Everything appears lovely now,

It’s been having someone,

You can’t live without.

It is strong desire,

To hold your love for ever,

This is what loves all about.

Feeling of happiness even all goes wrong,

Sitting & thinking of lovely songs.

Heart dance on rhythm of love,

Eyes shine with lovely thoughts

That is what loves all about.
